Terms of Service

Effective April 2026

Welcome to Garment Butler! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and garment care services. By accessing our website or submitting any item for repair or mending services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.


1. Services Overview

Garment Butler provides specialized visible and invisible knitwear mending as well as coats and suits repair and preservation services.

All services are performed with the utmost care and professional judgment. However, outcomes may vary depending on the garment’s condition, fabric composition, and prior wear or treatment.


2. Client Responsibilities

By submitting a garment to be serviced, customers agree to the following:

  • Customers will provide accurate and complete information regarding:
    • Fabric composition (if known)
    • Prior repairs or alterations
    • Stains, damage, or special care history
  • Customers acknowledge that failure to disclose relevant information may affect results.

Garment Butler shall not be liable for damage resulting from undisclosed conditions, inherent fabric weaknesses, or prior treatments.


3. Nature of Repairs & No Guarantee

While we specialize in knitwear restoration as well as fine coats repair and preservation

  • Sometimes complete invisibility of repairs is not guaranteed
  • Results depend on fabric type, extent of damage as well as age and wear of the garment

By hiring our services, you acknowledge and accept these limitations.


4. Risk Acknowledgment

All garment care processes involve inherent risks, including but not limited to:

  • Fiber stress or breakage
  • Color variation or fading
  • Structural weakening
  • Changes in texture or finish

By submitting an item, you expressly acknowledge and accept these risks.


5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Garment Butler’s liability is limited to the lesser of:
    • The cost of the services performed, or
    • The fair market value of the garment
  • In all cases, liability shall not exceed $200 per garment, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

We are not liable for:

  • Loss of sentimental value
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

6. High-Value Items

  • Items valued over $1,000 must be declared prior to service
  • Additional agreements, insurance, or service conditions may apply

Failure to declare high-value items limits liability to the standard terms outlined above.


7. Shipping & Handling

When garments are shipped from customers to our company address to be repaired

  • Customers are responsible for:
    • Proper packaging
    • Selecting shipping insurance if desired
  • Garment Butler is not responsible for:
    • Loss or damage in transit
    • Carrier delays

When Garment Butler ships garments back to customers after repair

  • Garment Butler are responsible for
    • Proper packaging
    • Standard insurance of $100 unless otherwise requested by customers

Risk transfers to the client once items are handed over to a shipping carrier for return.


8. Turnaround Time

All turnaround times are estimates only.  As of April 2026, our turnaround time is 30-60 days. We are unable to accept urgent requests at this time.

  • Actual timelines may vary based on:
    • Garment complexity
    • Service type
    • Workload volume

Garment Butler does not guarantee completion dates.


9. Pricing & Payment

  • Initial service prices paid on our website are based on customers’ understanding of hole size, hole numbers and desired repair needs.
  • Final pricing may be adjusted after physical inspection

Payment terms:

  • Payment is required in advance before service begins.
  • Please pay for return shipping while checking out for repair services.
  • Garments will be returned with prepaid USPS postage.

10. No Returns or Refunds

Due to the custom nature of garment services:

  • All sales are final
  • No refunds will be issued once work has been completed

If concerns arise, we may, at our discretion, offer reasonable adjustments.


11. Refusal of Service

We reserve the right to refuse service for any item, including but not limited to:

  • Extremely fragile or deteriorated garments
  • Items deemed unsuitable for mending or repair
  • Items with a high risk of damage

12. Abandoned Property

  • Garments not deliverable after completion of repair services for 90 days may be considered abandoned
  • Abandoned items may be:
    • Donated
    • Resold
    • Disposed of

No compensation will be provided for abandoned items.


13. Third-Party Services

When services (such as dry cleaning) are performed by third parties:

  • Garment Butler acts as a coordinator only
  • We are not liable for the acts or omissions of third-party providers

14. Intellectual Property & Marketing

Unless otherwise requested in writing:

  • We reserve the right to photograph garments before and after service
  • Images may be used for:
    • Portfolio
    • Marketing
    • Educational purposes

No personally identifiable information will be disclosed without consent.


15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict of law principles.


16. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time.

  • Changes will be posted on this page
  • Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms
